In orientation week, the students become familiar with the program, mentors, and company. The working principles of the company will also be briefed to interns this week. All the interns are divided into teams (three, four, or four members) and allocated to their respective departments.
Competence week is for making interns able to learn and experience the company’s technical side from the perspective of the departments allocated to them. This week, interns are also given lectures that might be technical or motivational. A project is assigned to every intern within the team.
After being outfitted with the skills, the interns are now permitted to apply them in their projects, not only technical skills but also professional skills, because they must collaborate with the team.
Pitch week is when you submit your project with a presentation and a report to get feedback from your mentors.
International Departments:
The interns are assigned to different departments according to their fields of study, and then they are divided into teams. A few departments are given as under:
Marketing divisionProduct management departmentDesign and technology divisionAdministration division
The marketing department deals with the methods of making uber-popular and reliable among customers with different marketing techniques. Students pursuing bachelor’s in marketing or business administration students who are specializing in marketing can be allocated to this department. Students interested in entrepreneurship can also apply to this department.
The product management department deals with the business of Uber’s products. Uber offers four different products: ridesharing, uber eats, uber for business, and uber freight, so interns in this department are familiar with all the details about these offerings and how these offers should be technically accumulated to satisfy customers’ needs. In this department, students are offered internships in fields such as business administration, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, data science, etc.,
The design and technology department of Uber deals with technical skills. When Uber launches any product, its hardware, as well as software, should be designed properly. By hardware design, we mean product design, and by software design, we need to design user-interface (mobile applications, websites), etc.,
In this department, students of mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, software engineering, information technology, and computer science are offered internships.
In this department, financial and human resources-HR skills are acknowledged to students. This department deals with all the financial issues of the company, and HR deals with recruitment issues and employee dealings. The students of business administration are mostly allocated to this department.
