OnePlus today announced on their forums that the initial shipment of the OnePlus 2 will be delayed by 2-3 weeks. While the OnePlus 2 will start shipping to consumers in Europe on or after August 11, the first batch of the handset to North America will only be shipped after 2-3 weeks. The company cites “production schedules” as the reason behind this delay. Despite the delay in shipment, interested OnePlus 2 customers in North America will be able to purchase the handset from oneplus.net from August 11, if they have an invitation code. Just like last year, the OnePlus 2 can only be purchased through an invite, which will be easier to get hold of this time around as the company is better prepared to handle the demand for its handset.
