Disney-Pixar revealed The Incredibles 2 will get a new trailer or TV spot during the first full week of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games. In recent years, the Disney-owned animation house Pixar has made efforts to put out both original concept films and sequels to movies from its largely beloved catalogue. After a break in 2014 and two original features in 2015 (Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur), 2016 saw Pixar release Finding Dory, a sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo. But, Pixar returned in 2017 with the threequel Cars 3 and the original film Coco. Next, the animation studio is gearing up to launch another sequel, the highly anticipated Incredibles 2.

Brad Bird’s 2004 Pixar release, The Incredibles, is beloved by many for its unique portrayal of a superhero family, lead by Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), who must come out of retirement to battle a supervillain of their own making. Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl will return for the sequel, along with their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner), and Jack-Jack. Although Pixar released a teaser trailer for The Incredibles 2 late last year, we’ve yet to see a full trailer for the upcoming animated film. Now, that might change this week.

Two TV spots that aired during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games reveal a “special look” at The Incredibles 2 will arrive Wednesday, February 14 during NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics. It’s unclear if the special look will be a TV spot or a full trailer - or an Olympics-themed TV spot much like The Grinch - but fans can at least look forward to new footage from the sequel. Take a look at the two Incredibles 2 TV spots below:

In addition to the main family, The Incredibles 2 will see the return of fan-favorites Edna Mode (Bird) and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson). Plus, new cast members for the animated sequel include Winston Deavor (Bob Odenkirk), Evelyn Deavor (Catherine Keener), Voyd (Sophia Bush), Rick Dicker (Jonathan Banks), the Ambassador (Isabella Rossellini), and new villain the Underminer (John Ratzenberger). Similar to the first Incredibles, the followup will feature characters who are fans of superheroes, as Winston Deavor is a fan of superheroes in general, while Voyd is a fan of Elastigirl in particular.

Based on what we know about The Incredibles 2, it will focus on Elastigirl more than Mr. Incredible, since the former will presumably be the main superhero in the family while the latter stays at home with Jack-Jack. It was originally thought a trailer for The Incredibles 2 would arrive during the Super Bowl this year, but it seems Pixar decided to avoid the onslaught of movie and TV teasers for an Olympics release instead. Now, fans can look forward to a new TV spot or trailer for The Incredibles 2 to arrive this week during NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage.
